Our Incident stress management course is designed to deal
with the stress that occurs at the time of the emergency. It is taught by a counselor who worked in a
hospital emergency room, mainly counseling patients, but also providing ER room
stress management to nurses and doctors during times of gross chaos to return
their focus to the situation at hand.
Like in a hospital emergency room, many unfortunate and
unsightly chaotic situations can occur
during emergency response. And
like doctors and nurses, emergency responders--commanders, command staff
personnel, leaders, and responders--must deal with it, get through it and make
important decisions with good judgment.
Our training provides an understanding of stress, and
offers several stress management skills to prevent reaching the breaking point
during an emergency. The training is
also structured to provide skills to recognize when an individual is having
trouble, so aid can be given.
Worth Considering:

Stress affects everyone and
everyone has a breaking point, even the most experienced personnel.
Stress has no boundaries, is
cumulative, (ER, Home, Work) and thus a breaking point can happen at any time.
Born with the ability or
not
it doesnt make a difference in industry, because it may be merely a job
title that makes an individual a part-time IC, who may at any time face the
worst. Hence, stress management
improvement through training is not only prudent, but also absolutely
necessary.
